PRODUCTION ASSISTANT POSITION

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our company is looking for a Production Assistant

with an eye for detail! They will work with our pattern designs

to manufacture and produce our pet toy line and other fabric

pieces. Holiday seasonal duties may include shop organization

and packaging/shipping of wholesale orders.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• PRODUCT PREPARATION – Use patterns to measure and cut fabrics and other custom goods. Arrange and pin materials in preparation of sewing. Work with a task list to prep materials for outgoing wholesale and retail orders.

• PRODUCT MANUFACTURING – Machine sew products and revise stitches as needed. Stuff toys with materials (stuffing, squeakers, catnip, crinkle paper) and hand stitch those toys closed.  As an assurance of toy quality, assistants are required to be able to accurately and artistically reproduce examples prior to working independently.

• PRODUCT INSPECTION – Ensure high-quality with an overall quality inspection. Finishing tasks may include, hemming embroidery, re-stuffing, etc. 

• SHIPPING TASKS – Prep and package orders for shipment. Constructing boxes, counting quantities and checking inventory. 

• STUDIO ORGANIZATION – Ensure materials and equipment are stocked and prepared. Provide a quick inventory of sewing machinery (ex: bobbins, thread) and prepare for next retail/wholesale order.

THE IDEAL APPLICANT...

• IS PROFICIENT IN SEWING -- they possess the skills to operate a sewing machine and produce well-made products. Basic hand stitching knowledge is a bonus. 

• IS COACHABLE - they demonstrate a willingness to learn production procedures, techniques, and projects. They have the ability to take constructive criticism as it pertains to production performance. 

• IS RESPONSIBLE - (WHEN ON SITE FOR STUDIO PRODUCTION) They have reliable transportation, show up to work on time, and complete projects as needed. (WHEN WFH INDEPENDENTLY) They track their own hours, complete tasks on time and deliver projects as needed. It is essential that all products are of high quality and finished on time.

• EXPERIENCE - Applicants with basic skills in machine/hand sewing (or willingness to be trained)

• SCHEDULE AVAILABILITY – (FOR ON SITE PRODUCTION) weekdays during business hours. (WHEN WFH INDEPENDENTLY) Applicants are free to choose their work hours as long as products are completed and delivered by requested time.
